Nonprofit Registration

You're invited to join the 12th Annual Kitsap Great Give!

Before You Begin

You'll need the following (Step One):

  • Your Business License Number for the State of Washington (UBI)
  • Ensure that your annual Secretary of State Nonprofit Annual Report is filed and confirm that you are current on your 990 tax filing.
  • Your Charitable Registration Number from the WA Secretary of State Charities Division, if applicable (check whether this is required by clicking here; there is also a handy-dandy flow chart to check out here).
  • An estimated number of clients served in the Kitsap County/North Mason County/Gig Harbor area in the last 12 months.
  • Your Annual Revenue (there are ranges to select from)
  • We also have questions if you are a nonprofit with BIPOC leadership and populations served by your organization (there are multiple selections to choose from).

Step Two: Visit your organization's dashboard and complete all the required items on your to-do list to complete your registration requirements. Once you have completed all the requirements, the Foundation team will review your organization's registration. Reviews can take up to one week.

Eligibility

Eligible organizations are 501(c)(3) public charities that are in compliance with annual IRS 990 filing requirements. Note that “public charities” do not include private foundations (operating or non-operating).

Eligible organizations must be located in or provide substantial services to Kitsap County and/or immediately surrounding areas (such as Belfair or Gig Harbor). A mailing address in Kitsap County or an immediately-surrounding area will be sufficient evidence that a nonprofit provides “substantial services” in the qualifying geographic area.

For those nonprofit organizations that do not have a mailing address in Kitsap County or an immediately-surrounding area, Kitsap Community Foundation will make a case-by-case determination regarding whether or not the nonprofit provides “substantial services” and qualifies for the Kitsap Great Give. If your nonprofit is not based in Kitsap County, please explain how you qualify to participate in the Kitsap Great Give when registering your nonprofit.

If you are a Fiscally Sponsored organization that does not already have a page on the platform, click here to submit a request for a page.

Registration will be open January 1-21, 2025

All registration forms must be submitted by midnight on Tuesday, January 21st to be eligible for participation, including the required To Do List items outlined in your organization dashboard.
