Soroptimist International of Port Orchard

For 80 years, Soroptimist International of Port Orchard has been improving the lives of women and girls in the South Kitsap Community through programs leading to social and economic empowerment. 

Our annual signature project is the Soroptimist Live Your Dream Award, which helps women who provide the primary source of financial support for their families by giving them the resources they need to improve their education, skills and job prospects. We also support young women graduates of South Kitsap High School, Discovery School and homeschool with annual scholarships to continue their education. Our additional projects include helping victims of domestic violence and promoting health for homeless and low income women and girls. We have also provided funding for community improvement projects at the Port Orchard Waterfront Park and Pavilion that benefit local families. Each year we give food and clothing assistance to low income individuals through our Port Orchard Cares partnership with Rotary and our Knittin' Tree project.

Soroptimist International of Port Orchard is a local all volunteer organization that is a part of an international women's organization for business and professional women who work to improve the lives of women and girls, in local communities and throughout the world. Almost 95,000 Soroptimists in about 120 countries and territories contribute time and financial support to community–based and international projects that benefit women and girls.
