Thank you for supporting Kitsap Applied Technologies. The good works we perform could not be performed without Community Support and financial assistance from people like YOU. We especially need your support now as we begin creating new programs to promote employment opportunity for developmentally disabled adults and other disabled populations in need of vocational support.

WHAT DO WE DO: Kitsap Applied Technologies (KAT) is a private non-profit organization serving disabled veterans and individuals with developmental disabilities throughout Kitsap county. Since 1984 With the help of your donation, we have helped hundreds of developmentally disabled adults and disabled veterans acquire employment skills and find employment opportunity. We operate training programs that promote the employment inclusion and independent living opportunities for the persons we serve. The participants strive for independence with the ultimate goals of competitive employment, independent living, and community reintegration. Your support goes far beyond the mere dollar amount of your donation – it signals your support of the mission and purpose of our organization, as well as, providing the means for achieving the pathway to employment that would otherwise not be possible.

HOW WE DO IT: From an early stage in our existence, K.A.T. developed business relationships with Boeing and several other companies who share the goals of community inclusion through work integration. K.A.T.’s programs offer its participants work-training and paid employment through work provided by our community partners. The training stresses the use of non-aversive behavioral management techniques to eliminate behaviors inappropriate for the workplace. Inappropriate behaviors are extinguished, and replaced by proper employment skills and behaviors expected in the community employment arena. Strong emphasis in work ethics, skill development, and employer expectations is the key to success in the vocational training program.

Thank you, again, for your support and please visit our website at www.katkitsap.org for a closer look at what you have made possible. Please give generously during 2023’s GREAT GIVE. Let’s SMASH the prior records!
