The Foster Parent Association of Washington State (FPAWS) is a dedicated organization committed to supporting and empowering foster parents across Washington. We provide a wide range of services including training, resources, and advocacy to help foster parents offer the best care to the children they welcome into their homes.
Our mission is to ensure that every child in foster care receives the love, stability, and support they need to thrive, while also supporting the crucial role of foster families in our community.
FPAWS uses donations to fund a variety of essential programs and services designed to support foster parents and improve the foster care system. These include:Training and Workshops: Offering educational opportunities for foster parents to enhance their skills and knowledge in caregiving, trauma-informed care, and child development.
Resource Support: Providing a bridge to necessary supplies and resources, such as clothing, educational materials, and therapeutic tools, to help foster families meet the needs of children in their care.
Advocacy and Outreach: Supporting initiatives that advocate for better policies and practices within the foster care system, as well as raising awareness about the challenges and needs of foster families.
Community Building: Organizing events and activities that foster a sense of community and connection among foster parents, allowing them to share experiences and support one another.
These contributions help FPAWS ensure that foster parents are well-equipped to provide high-quality care and that the foster care system in Washington State operates more effectively and compassionately.
Through our efforts, we strive to strengthen families and improve the overall foster care system in Washington State.
