The We Are Better Together Foundation (WABTF) is a forward-thinking nonprofit organization committed to advocating and promoting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). Our foundation operates under the steadfast belief that our collective strength lies in our diversity. To this end, we've created five strategic initiatives, each addressing a different facet of DEI:

1. Children's Multilingual Empowerment Initiative (CMEI): CMEI promotes language access and works to bridge the linguistic divides in education. This initiative provides bilingual educational support and resources, ensuring that language barriers do not impede a student's academic success.

2. Inclusive Minds Initiative (IMI): IMI is dedicated to creating inclusive learning environments for children with diverse learning abilities and special needs. We work towards addressing systemic barriers and advocating for necessary accommodations, empowering all learners to excel.

3. Socio-Economic Equality in Education Initiative (SEEEI): SEEEI is dedicated to creating awareness of socio-economic disparities in education. We are committed to actively contributing towards more equal access to quality education for students from all socio-economic backgrounds by helping them navigate the systems so they can successfully find and apply for scholarships, providing access to essential resources, and connecting them with after-school support programs.

4. Culturally Responsive Initiative (CRI): CRI is committed to fostering cultural proficiency by integrating diverse cultural perspectives across various sectors of society. We contribute to the development of culturally responsive materials and promote policy changes to create more inclusive and representative environments, whether in the classroom, the office, or beyond.

5. Gender and Sexuality Understanding Initiative (GSUI): GSUI is dedicated to fostering understanding, promoting respect, and encouraging acceptance of all gender identities and orientations. We are committed to creating a culture where respect and understanding are fundamental values, enabling individuals to embrace the diversity of gender identities and orientations.

6. Latino Community Approach. The LCA is commited to reach out to the growing Latino community and help them navigate through all the free resources available to them in the areas of health, education and job opportunities to name a few. By doing this we hope the community at large will be positively impacted as it welcomes this member.

Together, these initiatives form the backbone of WABTF, united by a common mission: to foster an equitable and inclusive educational environment that embraces and celebrates diversity. Our approach ensures that every person feels valued, included, and empowered to reach their highest potential, because we truly believe – we are better together.

We believe when all individuals, regardless of their backgrounds, race, or ethnicity, are empowered, included, and given equitable access, they can embrace their unique identities, shape their future, and change the world.

Mission

Our mission at the 'We Are Better Together Foundation' is to advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion across all facets of society, with a focus on education, workplaces, communities, and public services. We are committed to dismantling barriers, fostering understanding, and creating safe spaces of integration, inclusion, and respect for existing diversity, so that every individual can confidently navigate their journey and shape their future.

Needs

We are a starting non-profit and therefore we need all of the necessary office equipment, to be able to hire office staff, rent the necessary space to offer our services in-house. We want to be able to host different events to bring the community Together, as well as continue training, and have opportunities available for volunteers of all ages.
