Living United - That's the United Way!

United Way of Kitsap County Champions, Supports, Empowers and Provides access & resources for our 3 key initiatives in Health, Education & Financial Stability.

United Way is community driven, we put your donations in action. We are focusing on the root causes of financial disparities to learn how to pull people and families out of poverty through ALICE research (Asset Limited Income Constrained Employed) we sift through the data to create programs and support organizations that are working to end generational poverty.  Our 2.1.1 Call Center is an emergency stop gap for people seeking rental assistance, utility assistance, and social services programs that prevent homelessness and wage loss during a crisis. Trained operators connect those in need with the services to meet the immediate need while providing further assistance for long term stability.   

We are also proud to present our newest program Dolly Parton Imagination Library. This book gifting program allows all children in Kitsap County from birth to 5 years old to receive a free book mailed to them each month. It is Dolly's mission to gets books in the hands of all children up to 5 years old to begin their love of reading because you cannot get enough books into enough kids hands. We hope you will make it your mission too.

There are other programs you might want to support like Kids & Cops or West Sound Free Mobile Clinic Prescription Vouchers. We find new ways to invest in our community that gets to the core of our needs. We also disaster relief fund to help those effected by natural and manmade disasters in our region. 

United Way is broadening our reach with VolunteerKitsap.org helping nonprofits connect with volunteers and the community conference room that helps business grow and host hiring events. We also support budding nonprofits as an incubator, giving community leaders a space to create their messaging while building community support on their way to becoming 501c (3)'s.

So whether you passion is to help, the young, the old, the sick, the homeless, children starting out, people looking for work or looking for a place to volunteer we have you covered. There isn't a sector or demographic that gets left behind. This is how we help all of Kitsap County Live United!
