Our mission is to give professional entertainment value to the West Sound region and afford Northwest artists an opportunity to perform major operatic roles.
Founded in 1992, Kitsap Opera gives talented young singers a place to hone their skills, experiencing major roles alongside seasoned professionals. We are one of the four continuous opera companies in the state.
Kitsap Opera showcases many West Sound artists which provides an educational outreach to the regions schools. Kitsap Opera is an opera group in the European tradition in that we offer an intermediate step for singers between college training and major American opera companies.
We are indebted to local chorus and orchestra members who are the backbone of our company. Kitsap Opera is a member of Opera America, a service organization for professional opera with 2,450 opera companies, affiliates, and individual members located in the United States, Canada, Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, and South America
