Mission
Kitsap Legal Aid Services provides and facilitates access to justice in Kitsap County for low-income individuals or marginalized communities through advocacy and free civil legal services. Our services are instrumental in keeping the most vulnerable in our community, housed, safe, and healthy.
Description
At Kitsap Legal Aid Services, we provide free legal assistance to low-income members of our community so that all may have equal access to justice. KLAS assists about 650 of our most vulnerable neighbors each year with legal issues ranging from eviction, domestic violence protection orders, child support, estate planning, and many other legal issues affecting the most important basic rights and needs. The free civil legal aid we provide is statistically proven to increase positive outcomes.
By improving access to justice, Kitsap Legal Aid Services works toward making our community a more equitable place for all people to call home. Guided by the principle that justice is not justice unless it is equal, we aim to provide the highest-quality legal services to those who are most vulnerable and in need.
In these unprecedented times, Kitsap Legal Aid Services will see an increased demand for our services. Your contribution will help meet that need and provide legal help to the most vulnerable in our community.
