Kitsap Tennis & Athletic Center (KTAC) strives to support the community through outreach programs. In response to the almost 180 miles of shoreline in Kitsap County, we launched one of our most impactful programs, Kitsap Kids Learn 2 Swim. Donations we receive through the Kitsap Great Give directly benefit the youth we serve in our outreach programs, especially Kitsap Kids Learn 2 Swim. This growing program introduces first grade students in the Central Kitsap School District to water safety and basic swimming skills. In the most recent year, KTAC reached of over 400 students and is offered to the Central Kitsap School District at no cost. We have grown from serving two area schools to currently serving five and hope to reach out to even more as funding permits.
As a 501 (c) (3) organization we are committed to being good stewards in our local community. In addition to the Kitsap Kids Learn 2 Swim program, KTAC offers a program for Boy and Girl Scouts to work on their merit badges in water safety. This year our members also gathered donations for the local food bank and collected supplies for local homeless teens and will continue to respond to the needs of our community.
