Support Kitsap Immigrant Assistance Center (KIAC), the only organization in the West Sound/Salish region providing direct services and referrals specific to immigrants.
Serving immigrants in Kitsap, Mason, Jefferson, and Clallam counties, we offer a safe and welcoming hub of services focused on the well-being and empowerment of immigrants and their families.
KIAC acts as a hub of resources for immigrants in our community – both with accessing routine services, as well as in times of crisis. KIAC is here for immigrants in our community.
KIAC is here for immigrants like Serena.
Serena came to the United States in September of 2023 after fleeing terrible violence in her home country. At the border, she applied for asylum and was interviewed by ICE, who released her with a notice to appear in immigration court. Serena made her way to Washington to stay with family where she found KIAC for help with her immigration legal case.
One of our Accredited Representatives, Ray, met with Serena to hear her story. He determined she had a strong case for asylum and began the tedious process of gathering evidence for the court. Ray entered the written pleadings to the court in December of 2023.
On February 14th, Ray represented Serena at her asylum hearing, and Serena won her case! Serena has since enrolled in classes to improve her English and has received her work permit. She is incredibly grateful to Ray and the KIAC legal team for helping her.
We couldn't do this work to help immigrants like Serena without generous donors like you.
