Kitsap Harvest Programs
Gleaning Program
Kitsap Harvest organizes volunteers to harvest surplus produce and other fresh food from local farms, markets, and backyard gardens. Instead of letting excess fruits and vegetables go to waste, a team of volunteers will come harvest and sort donated produce and take it to members of our community in need.
Community Garden Program
This program supports shared gardening spaces where volunteers and community members grow fresh produce for donation. By cultivating fruits and vegetables locally, the program increases food access while fostering education and engagement food production.
Grow-A-Row Program
Home gardeners can dedicate a portion of their harvest to help fight food insecurity. Whether it’s extra tomatoes, zucchini, or greens, every homegrown contribution helps Kitsap Harvest provide more fresh food to families in need. The program encourages community members to take an active role in addressing hunger.
Mission
Kitsap Harvest connects abundance to need by reducing food waste, nurturing community, and providing equitable access to fresh, locally grown food.
Needs
As a 100% volunteer-run organization, every contribution directly supports our mission to rescue fresh food and feed our community. Here’s how your donation makes an impact:
$25 – Provides supplies for Grow-A-Row participants, helping home gardeners start seedlings for donation
$100 – Covers electricity costs for one month to keep our refrigerators running and fresh food preserved.
$250 – Keeps our gleaning truck on the road for a month, ensuring we can transport rescued food.
$500 – Pays for one month of rent at our warehouse, where we sort and distribute food to those in need.
Every dollar makes a difference. Your support ensures that fresh, local food reaches our neighbors instead of going to waste.
