$5,000 Goal

The Good Grief Foundation  is made up of two arms of support that serve widows in Kitsap and Mason County.

The Good Grief Support Group has been serving widows for over 6 years.

Our mission is "To empower, educate, and support widows in living with their grief rather than in grief through the formation of a sisterhood. "

The Good Grief Support Group meets weekly and has grown out of its meeting space a few times as the group expanded and touched more lives. The meetings are currently held at The HUB Center for Seniors in Belfair and a second meeting is slated to open in Shelton, WA at the Faith Lutheran Church in the next few weeks. The Good Grief meetings are not your typical support group and are place to find courage, share anger and frustrations and support each other through the hope that there are joyful moments yet to come.

The Good Grief Foundation is a  way to to support real needs for widows as they grieve. The Good Grief Foundation provides financial support for one time needs of a widow that cannot be met on their own. The ways that the foundation has helped is as varied as the people who come to the foundation for help. Some of the amazing ways the foundation has brought hope in the darkest hour to a widow is through new tires on a car with threadbare wheels, septic tank repair, water pipe repair and clean up, leaking roofs and sagging floors, returning power to a home after the bill got too high, tree removal and other necessary health and safety concerns for widows.

The help that is received is a sign of hope that yes you are loved and you will get through this. One foot in front of the other and one day you will be dancing. again.

We are seeking support of the Good Grief Foundation so we can continue to shine light in the darkness and bring hope to the hopeless.

Mission

Our mission is "To empower, educate, and support widows in living with their grief rather than in grief through the formation of a sisterhood. "

Needs

The Good Grief Foundation is in need of financial support to enable us to continue to be the light in the darkest of days for widows. We are seeking funding to be able to answer the call when a widow has a one time need that is out of the range of what they can pay. We strive to be able to help with health, safety, sanitation and well being requests.

Most of the requests we get are for housing needs to help widows stay in their homes and/or auto mobile repairs to help them maintain their independence and go to appointments with safe and reliable transportation.
