Amabile Choir is a multigenerational community choir that draws singers of all ages from Bainbridge Island, central and north Kitsap County. We perform at minimum six concerts a year, scheduled in the spring (Apr) and during the holiday season (Dec). We have also performed "A Christmas Party with Amabile" at the Jewel Box Theatre in Poulsbo for the last two years. Our audiences include our friends and neighbors from throughout Kitsap and surrounding counties.
Our director, Sylvia Cauter, taught choral music at North Kitsap High School for 28 years. Under her leadership, we are actively pursuing collaborations with choirs from surrounding schools and other local community-based musical groups, such as the Poulsbo Community Orchestra and Olympic Serenade String Quartet.
There are many benefits to singing in a choir, including forging social bonds across generations and other demographic groups, increasing happiness and wellbeing, reducing stress and improving health overall. Singing together provides an inclusive means of combating the forces in our society that are pulling us apart.

Amabile Choir endeavors to inspire singers and audience members by performing choral music with love and joyful intention.
Donations to our organization will support our programming and collaborations with other musicians and choral music groups. In 2024 we will be singing with youth from both North Kitsap High School and Sakai Intermediate School choirs.
We are also extending our outreach to senior communities to make our concerts more accessible.
