St. Vincent de Paul - Bremerton
of Matching Funds Remaining
Our assistance program serves low income individuals in the Bremerton/Silverdale area. Many of our low income people are physically or mentally handicapped or are senior citizens. With funds generated from last years Great Give we assisted 13,000 families with either food, clothing, transportation, household furniture and furnishings, utility assistance, and many other miscellaneous necessities. In addition we operate a single women and young children shelter for the homeless as part of our Assistance Program., we were able to shelter 206 women and 78 children. The primary goal of our organization is to assist individuals and families due to job loss, illness, mental or physical handicaps and other unforeseen circumstances.
From a former client who has terminal cancer, "I realize you have not heard from me in a while, I had to move closer to my family, I just want you to know that I will never forget the kindness you offered to my family in our times of need...I can not express our gratitude enough. I have asked my grown children to be kind, give back and have a listening ear as well as a hug, just like we received at St. Vincent. This is exactly what we hope to provide, one family at a time.
During the fiscal year ending September 30, 2015 St. Vincent de Paul served 32,668 people with various kinds of emergency assistance including food, clothing, transportation, household furnishings, and emergency shelter for Single Women & Single Women with their children. St. Vincent de Paul distributed 10,034 food baskets. Kitsap Great give funding will help St Vincent de Paul continue with its commitment of serving basic emergency needs of those in our community who are having a difficult time. St. Vincent de Paul offers assistance without regard to race or religious affiliation.
