Kitsap Rescue Mission
of Matching Funds Remaining
We exist to assist the homeless and needy on the Kitsap Peninsula, who desire change, to experience the love of Christ and restoration of body, mind and spirit.
James was a nursing assistant pursuing his RN Degree when he became addicted to oxycontin. James lost his job, was divorced by his wife and became homeless. He entered a treatment program and broke the addiction, but could not find a job and fell behind on his child support. Lost in the complexity of his choices and desperate to change his life, James turned to the Mission for help. The Mission helped James continue to stay clean and attend classes that help him stay in the medical field. In December 2011, while at the Mission, James was hire at Teletech and has been able to catch up on his child support and be a bigger part of his daughter’s life. James continued to work on his relationships with his family, church and community. James now works at the VA regional hospital in Seattle, is taking his nursing boards and just purchased a new home in Port Orchard.
Your gift will be used to fund the ongoing needs of our Dayroom, Overnight Shelter and Meal Sites that provides a refuge for men, women and children. It also helps us in our effort to ensure that homeless individuals get food, clothing and other essentials of life as we try to connect them with resources that will change the direction of their lives.
