Hidden in the quiet sanctuary of Grovers Creek, just outside of Poulsbo, is a grove of spectacular 200-year old spruce, cedar, hemlock and fir trees, a quiet stream that is home to beavers, life-giving wetlands bursting with bird song, and wandering bears feasting on the fall salmon run. Great Peninsula Conservancy brought together birders, hikers, tribes, and community groups and successfully raised funds to purchase 280 acres of this natural wonder. Now conserved forever, Grovers Creek Preserve ensures these wild creatures will always have a place to call home. Our work to save these lands, and others from Port Gamble to Gig Harbor, also provides greenspaces for people to be inspired by nature and enjoy refreshing walks in the great outdoors.
Kitsap Great Give is the perfect time to make your gift to Great Peninsula Conservancy. Our 2017 challenge donors will contribute $1 to GPC for every $1 we raise through Kitsap Great Give, doubling the value of every gift! Plus, your contribution will help protect the lands that enrich your life, ensuring clean air and water, inspiring you with natural beauty, and providing you with special places to explore.
