Great Peninsula Conservancy
of Matching Funds Remaining
Great Peninsula Conservancy is a non-profit land trust protecting Puget Sound shorelines, salmon streams, evergreen forests, and community greenspaces for the people and wildlife of Kitsap, Mason, and Pierce counties–forever.
Kitsap Great Give donors who jumped in to support our 2017 Challenge helped Great Peninsula Conservancy earn a whopping $100,000 in matching funds to conserve our area’s beautiful shorelines, salmon streams, evergreen forests, and community greenspaces. Your support helped protect nearly 900 feet of Hood Canal shoreline, nearly ½ mile of salmon stream, and over 130 acres of evergreen forest! You also inspired a landowner to match your generosity with an incredible gift of land. GPC’s new Tyner Preserve is a natural beauty. Wandering under its mature fir and cedar trees, you’ll find shaded Curley Creek providing clean water for threatened salmon and for all the creatures downstream in our treasured Puget Sound: from oysters to orcas. What a tremendous gift to our community! We now have a wonderful opportunity. With your support for protecting healthy salmon streams, Great Peninsula Conservancy is poised to protect even more land along Curley Creek in the year to come. Our work to save these salmon streams and Puget Sound shorelines also provides places for people to enjoy the beauty of nature close to home–today and forever.
Kitsap Great Give is the perfect time to make your gift to Great Peninsula Conservancy. Our 2018 challenge donors will contribute $1 to GPC for every $1 we raise through Kitsap Great Give, doubling the value of every gift! Plus, your contribution will help protect the lands that enrich your life, ensuring clean air and water, inspiring you with natural beauty, and providing you with special places to explore.
